Just a quick recap of what went down in 2009 for The Locusts Have No King. Continuing in the spirit of evolution the band gained two amazing additions: Joey DesRoches on drums (and vocal) and the local singer/songwriter Tara Watts (vocals and guitar).
This year held some memorable highlights including rockin’ out at the Phog Phest , celebrating their winning of : “Best Live Venue in Canada” hosted by the CBC3 in July.
We were also fortunate to meet and share the stage with the likes of Elliot Brood, The Schomberg Fair, The Sun Parlour Players, The Tom Fun Orchestra and the United Steel Workers of Montreal.
In the fall we decided to shelv the never to be released album “Carolinians” to start work on more relevant material. So began our endeavor to focus more energy into the laboratory.
2010 will see the release of a 5 song EP available for digital downland in March accompanied by a small tour of south western Ontario. This will include a stop in Toronto for the Canadian Music Week. In June, we will release a full length LP followed by an east coast tour. We intend to have all your favourite merchandise available in the coming year: t-shirts, buttons, stickers and such.
Watch out for us on Twitter, Facebook , MySpace and YouTube. Our new blog will keep you abreast of our progress and adventures throughout the year.
